You asked. We listened.
Not in a vague "we love feedback" way. In the concrete way: messages, search, and signup intent kept pointing at CompTIA — especially Security+ — while Acedify already covered AWS, Microsoft, language, and admissions exams.
So we started building a CompTIA package. Security+ is first.
Why Security+ first#
Security+ is the CompTIA exam people name when they want a vendor-neutral security baseline. It has a clear live form today (SY0-701), a published pass mark, and a successor date on the calendar (SY0-801 launches 17 November 2026).
That combination matters for product work:
- Learners booking now need practice against SY0-701 — the exam that is live.
- Learners planning past the V8 launch need honest labels for what is published (domain weights) and what is not (full SY0-801 objectives, until CompTIA ships them).
- We refuse to sell "V8-aligned" vibes when the blueprint details are still incomplete.
If you want the booking decision in one place, use the Security+ exam page and the SY0-801 blueprint page.
What "building a package" means here#
On Acedify, a cert package is not a PDF dump with a CompTIA logo slapped on.
It means the same loop we already run for SAA, AZ-104, CLF, and the rest:
- Practice in exam language — domains weighted the way CompTIA weights them for the version you are sitting.
- Drill the gap — the deciding line on a miss, not a random new topic.
- Sit timed — 90 minutes, maximum of 90 questions, multiple-choice and performance-based shapes in the mix.
- Read the range — a readiness estimate against CompTIA's published 750 on the 100–900 scale, labelled as Acedify's estimate — not "CompTIA says you passed."
Same philosophy as Know your score before test day. Same pacing honesty as Fluent, Fragile, Guessed, Gap. Same adaptive idea as Why we stopped giving you the hardest questions: aim for productive difficulty, not a wall of impossible stems.
SY0-701 vs SY0-801 — without the fog#
| SY0-701 (live) | SY0-801 (launches 17 Nov 2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Questions | Maximum of 90 | Maximum of 90 |
| Time | 90 minutes | 90 minutes |
| Pass mark | 750 on 100–900 | 750 on 100–900 |
| Domains | Five published domains (V7 weights) | Five published domains (V8 weights) |
| Objectives | Published | Not fully published yet |
English retirement for SY0-701 is 11 June 2027 (other languages 13 August 2027). A learner booking today should book SY0-701 unless their sit date is after they intentionally choose V8.
We will not invent objective maps for V8. When CompTIA publishes them, practice remaps. Until then, blueprint practice that uses V8 domain weights stays labelled for what it is.
Performance-based questions stay in the story#
Security+ is not MCQ-only. Performance-based items are part of the form. Practice that never touches that shape trains the wrong sitting.
On Acedify that means simulations and decision surfaces belong in the package alongside multiple-choice — timed when you are ready, explained when you miss — not hidden behind a "coming soon" forever.
What you should expect as we ship#
- A CompTIA Security+ surface you can practice for free, then sit timed when you want the range.
- Clear version labelling: live SY0-701 first; SY0-801 path documented without fake "fully aligned" claims.
- Domain signal after sittings — General Security Concepts, Threats, Architecture, Operations, Program Management — so you know which weight is opening the estimate.
- No hardcoded Pro prices in the blog; plans live on the site.
This is how we answer demand: ship the exam people asked for, with the measurement honesty we already sell on AWS and Azure — not a rushed question bank with a red logo.
